The Archaeological Expedition of the Institute of Archaeology carried the excavations within the headquarters building (principia) and along the fortifications of Novae. Now, the headquarters building is partly recreated and opened for the visitors. The excavations of the legionary fortifications were finished in 2016. The results of these excavations were published in Archeologia (Warsaw) journal.
Recently, the early Flavian pits have been discovered in the heart of the fortress. The materials turned out to be exceptional and precisely dated by coin finds. The publication of this discovery edited by Tadeusz Sarnowski is being prepared by prof. Sarnowski.
